Who We Are

Our Worship

We seek to faithfully preserve the Scriptural integrity and religious truths espoused in Scotland and many other places of the Reformation.

Our church meets every Lord’s Day (Sunday) to worship through the singing of psalms, prayer, Scripture reading, and the preached Word. Worship includes a morning and an afternoon service, with a fellowship meal in between. We also gather every Thursday night for a prayer meeting.

The Lord’s Supper is administered in the morning worship service on the second Lord’s Day of March, June, September, and December. We hold a special preparation service on the Saturday before each communion Sunday at 12 PM, with fellowship following.

Our Doctrine

We honor the Bible as the inspired and inerrant Word of God and hold it as our absolute authority. Our doctrine is reformed: a reference to the Bible doctrines re-discovered at the time of the Reformation in Europe. We honor the Bible as the inspired and inerrant Word of God and our absolute authority. The Westminster Confession of Faith is held as the detailed doctrinal standard of the church, subordinate to the Bible. Our Denomination

The Free Church of Scotland (Continuing) is a reformed Presbyterian denomination with congregations in the UK, Canada, USA, & Sri Lanka with works in Spain, France, and Mexico. We hold to the truth of the Bible in every word and love the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The government of our church is Presbyterian. This means that each congregation elects their office-bearers & minister to pastor them as was the case in the churches of the New Testament. These elders then group together in local church courts called Presbyteries. We also have regional Synods and a church-wide General Assembly.

Our Pastor

Rev. Craig Scott was born and raised in Scotland. He had no Christian upbringing but the Lord sovereignly converted him as a young man through the reading of the Scriptures. Pastor Scott was trained for the Gospel ministry at the Reformed Presbyterian Seminary in Glasgow, Scotland. He was then called, ordained, and installed as the Minister of First Reformed Presbyterian Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Lord then called Pastor Scott to the FCC ministry where he presently serves as the Minister of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greenville, Texas.

Pastor Scott is married to Rebekah and is father to Alastair, Margaret, Robert, and Selina.

Our Session

At present, the congregation remains under the supervision of the elders of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church (Burlington, NC) and Dallas Reformed Presbyterian Church (Dallas, TX). Lord willing, the congregation will call local ruling elders in 2026.

Our elders are:

  • Mr. Andrew Silva, elder (provisional)
  • Mr. Nick Schoeneberger, elder (provisional)
  • Mr. Ike Vernon, elder (provisional)
  • Mr. John Uselding (advisory)

Our History

Westminster Presbyterian Church originated as a PCA congregation in Greenville, Texas in the early 1970’s. In 2021, members of the congregation, along with other interested Christians in the general area, petitioned the United States Presbytery of the FCC for a church plant. In September 2022, Rev. Craig Scott accepted an invitation to be pulpit supply before being called and installed as Minister in December 2023.
